These Victorian Sterling Silver Paste Stone earrings are wonderful, Circa 1900.
They are set with a Blue Zircon Paste dropper, with white sparkling Paste stones which surrounds the gorgeous blue stone.
Originally from a Victorian necklace what has been made into earrings.
They are set with 18ct Gold ear hooks.
Paste is a heavy, very transparent flint glass that stimulates the fire and brilliance of gemstones because it has relatively high indices of refraction and strong dispersion, the Romans in particular were very skilful in the production of coloured glass pastes.
The reverse of the earrings are beautifully engraved too.
Set with beautiful all round workmanship.
